Digital Infrastructure Overhaul for Fintech Startup

Scalable architecture and DevOps automation for a high-growth company

Client / Context:
A London-based fintech startup preparing for Series A growth, needing to upgrade its cloud infrastructure to support scaling users and systems.

Problem:
The company’s AWS environment lacked automation, scalability, and efficient cost controls. Manual deployments slowed down releases, and outages became more frequent under traffic spikes.

Solution:
I conducted a full audit of their cloud infrastructure and led the transition to infrastructure-as-code using Terraform. I implemented containerization with Docker and built CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. Microservices were migrated to Kubernetes, enabling dynamic scaling and increased reliability.

Impact / Results:

  • Reduced downtime by 95%

  • Cut cloud costs by 30%

  • Deployment speed increased by over 60%

  • Positioned the company for successful fundraising and technical growth

Tech Stack: AWS, Terraform, Docker, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Prometheus
